Exposure control for SLR camera - has full aperture metering and escapement-controlled selected aperture setting

An exposure control for the s.l.r. camera has full aperture metering and a rapid setting aperture. The aperture ring is fitted with an escapement movement having an escapement lever alongside one edge and operated by a coupling into the camera. A second escapement in the camera operates on a control gear and a contact wheel whose displacement generates control pulses. The exposure control monitors the pulses from the contact wheel and operates a solenoid blocking lever when the required aperture setting is reached. The system operates as a dead beat setting without requiring any mechanical stops with possible shutter bounce.
