The tetragonal or cubic hollow packing body comprises two similar parts fitting together along their open sides. The three sides of each form together six body edges fitting together at two body corners separated by the body diagonal. Their open sides form a step from a common corner point of two surfaces for half the length of the body edge. The length of the vertical portion of the step is equal to the wall thickness, and the horizontal one to half the edge length minus the wall thickness.
