Railway tank wagon for liquefied gas - has non-round cross=section between ends of horizontally mounted insulated tank

For transport of deep-cooled liquefied earth gas, methane, or other liquid chemical and liquefied gases on railways, the tank on the wagon has encompassing insulation, and lies on the underframe. It is of upright non-circular cross-section, at least between its end parts. The tank internal sheath is pref. of cylindrical cross-section in the bogie regions, while in the centre part it consists of two part circles facing each other, and the outside sheath or insulation can have flattened sections. Transition sections may be provided between the cylindrical end sections and the surrounding middle part. The underframe may be of well-shape.
