Heat transfer system for heater elements - has gaps between insulating layers filled with superplastic metal alloy strips

The system transfers heat to heater elements separated by gaps, partic. where the elements - esp. of the positive temp. coefficient type - are mounted between insulating layers separated by gaps. Each gap is filled by a strip (12) of superplastic metal alloy, typically 80% zinc and 20% aluminium. Filling can take place at non-normal temp., the strips being then heated under pressure to half the alloy melting temp. until plastic distortion takes place. The heating elements can be in appts. for heating water.
