Pressure vessel bursting disc - has aluminium alloy disc secured by circlip

A pressure vessel is safeguarded against excessive internal pressure by a hollow plug which is covered by a bursting disc. the bursting disc is held across the bore by a circlip and the disc is surmounted by a cavity which communicates with atmosphere through a channel. The material preferred for the bursting disc is an aluminium alloy Al Mg Si 0.5. Such a safety device responds instantaneously and is easy to replace. Protection against projected particles is ensured and the device cannot be misadjusted.
