<p>A Bowden wire, esp. for bathroom fittings such as bathtub drain valves, consists of a stainless steel wire which has been coated with a low-friction plastic such as polyamide. The outer sleeve is made up of three layers. The inner layer is made of polyamide, tightly wrapped in a hose of woven tissue of polyamide fibres. The outer layer is a thin coating of polyamide. The flanged end pieces of the sleeve are made of a hard plastic and attached to it by a shrinkage joint. The fitment has a greater strength and less creep than filments with PTFE. IT has a longer service life and is easier to produce.</p> |
