Heating thermoplastics before moulding - moving radiant heat source and workpiece relative to each other

Thermoplastic/thermoelastic material is shaped applying radiant heat. The heat irradiator or the mounted material is moved in/along the heating zone until the moulding temp. is reached, the material is then moulded in conventional manner. Uniform or, if required, non-uniform heating an optimum heat energy consumption are achieved. Relative movement of heat source and work can be linear or e.g. rotational and can be motorised, it can be arranged to suit the shape of the workpiece.
