PURPOSE:To obtain a retaining lead battery with excellent high efficiency discharge property and sealed reaction efficiency by mixing a hydrophilic inert material in a positive electrode active material and water repellent inert material in a negative electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous or granular hydrophilic material of galss, silica, alumina, or titanium oxide is mixed in a positive electrode active material, and a water repellent inert material of polyester or polypropylene fiber cut to 2-3mm length or granular synthetic resin such as polyethylene is mixed in a negative electrode active material. The positive and negative electrode active materials and the separator are impregnated with an electrolyte retaining. Thus the electrolyte is distributed homogeneously in the positive electrode plate of lead dioxide poor in hydrophilic property to improve the high efficiency discharge property, and electrolyte on the negative electrode plate is reduced and the oxygen gas absorption is made effective to increase the sealed reaction efficiency. |
