The reinforcement for a branching hose to be attached to a main hose consists of a discontinuous fibres. The hoses are of an elastomer and the reinforcements are embedded in the materials of both hoses. The reinforcement of the main hose is also of discontinuous fibres. The fibres are arranged uniformly in the axial, radial, circumferential or spiral direction or a combination of these. They are 10 mm. long and are of nylon, polyester, cotton or rayon.
