<p>The contraceptive consists of a spermicidal active substance of the formula RCONH-(CH2CH2O)n-H, in which R denotes a C5-C19-alkyl or -alkenyl radical and n has a value of 3 to 20, a mixture of an alkali metal bicarbonate and a water-soluble, solid, anhydrous mono- or poly-carboxylic acid having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, in a stoichiometric ratio, as a foam generator, and a polyethylene glycol, or mixture of polyethylene glycols, which melts at body temperature.</p> |
