发明名称 Method for mass producing small spherical particles
摘要 1,096,640. Fibres. MONSANTO GO. Dec. 6, 1965 [Dec. 7, 1964], No. 51663/65. Heading B5B. Micro-fibres, defined as fibres of substantially circular cross-section of diameter 0À5-25 microns, are made by extruding streams of organic fibre-forming composition through orifices in a shaft on to planar surfaces extending radially from the shaft, rotating the surfaces at such a speed that the streams are attenuated centrifugally and advanced radially across the surfaces and then off their edges, receiving the streams in the form of fibres on collecting means, and continuously removing them from the collecting means. In one embodiment (Fig. 1) a spinning element 24 comprises a hollow tube 10 rotatably mounted on frame 12, and bearing six parallel fins 16 equally spaced around the circumference of tube 10, a row of orifices 18 being spaced between each two adjacent fins. A flowable organic composition, fed under pressure at both ends 19, 21 of tube 10, is extruded from the orifices of the rotating tube on to the smooth surfaces of the fins, and is thrown therefrom by centrifugal force in the form of micro-fibres, which are deposited as a web on each of a series of encircling collecting surfaces consisting of endless screens 26 carried on rotating shafts 30. In further embodiments, the plurality of fins may be replaced by a single, helical fin, and the interior of the tube 10 may be subdivided into more than one channel so that different compositions may be extruded. from different orifices.
