The electrostatic powder-coating system has a cabin (11) to which a powder-spraying device (12, 17, 18, 19, 20) is allocated. A filter band (22) is moved through the cabin (11), a part of one side of which filter band (22) forms the base of the cabin (11). The side, opposite this part, of the filter band (22) faces the suction side (27) of a first suction device (29) generating a subatmospheric pressure in the cabin (11). Seen in the direction of movement (26) of the filter band (22) through the cabin (11), following the aforementioned suction side (27), a suction nozzle (30) of a second suction device (31) provided with a separator (32) is directed at the aforementioned one side of the filter band (22), which suction nozzle (30) removes excess powder from the filter band (22) for the purpose of reuse. In order, on the one hand, to improve the cleaning of the filter band (22) by the suction nozzle (30) and, on the other hand, to adapt the permeability of the filter band (22) to the properties of the particular powder used, the suction nozzle (30) has allocated to it a blowing nozzle (35) directed at the filter band (22), the blown stream of which blowing nozzle (35) is directed into the suction nozzle (30), whereas powder deposition means (38) are present upstream of the aforementioned suction side (27), that is to say of the cabin (11), which are directed at the aforementioned one side in order to deposit a basic layer (43) of the powder on this one side. <IMAGE>
