The plaster bandage for medical purposes is produced from a ribbon-like nonwoven. After application of plaster in loose or pasty form onto one side of the nonwoven, the latter is folded over along a longitudinal fold (9) and closed with a longitudinal seam (3). The resulting tubular sheath (1) is subdivided by seams (4) into pockets (5). The plaster is thereby prevented from falling off and is additionally protected against atmospheric moisture in a better way. <IMAGE>
