PURPOSE:To prevent a short circuit between a discharge wire and oppositely positioned electrodes resulting from the attachment of dusts to a unit frame, by fixing end securing portions and an intermediate securing portion for engageably supporting the discharge wire to the oppositely positioned electrodes to provide a predetermined space therebetween. CONSTITUTION:As progressive removal of impurities from the air by an air cleaner unit 11 incorporated in an air conditioner takes place, a filter 9 suffers a gradual contamination. Therefore, it is replaced with new unit periodically. The oppositely positioned electrode plates 2 and discharge wire 3 constituting an electrode portion 4 and a unit frame 1 are also gradually contaminated by the passage of polluted air and the dusts can be removed by wiping along the oppositely positioned electrode plates 2 and the discharge wire 3 with a piece of cloth. End securing portions 7 an intermediate securing portion 8 for engageably supporting the end of the discharge wire 5 and the intermediate portion 6 thereof are fixed to the oppositely positioned electrode plates 2 to provide a predetermined space 16 therebetween, thereby preventing the occurrence of a short circuit between the discharge wire 3 and the oppositely positioned electrode plates 2 and the resulting abnormal discharge. |
