A loudspeaker for high frequencies (tweeter) has a conical diaphragm which is joined in its central part to a sleeve of the same as the carrier for the drive coil on the other side. The sleeve supports at the free end a disc which is coaxial to the diaphragm and is, seen from the outside, concave within the sleeve. This is followed in the radically outward direction by a convex section, a straight-line section and a bent-up rim. The disc is pref. made of cellulose acetate or rhodoid and has perforations with a small dia. (0.5-1 mm), esp. in the concave part of the disc. This disc acts as a powerful amplifier for the high-frequency sounds and radiates them in all directions with a high energy. Listeners are therefore not confined to the axial position for a correct high-frequency reception.
|
