摘要 <p>Composite of horizontal elastomer and steel laminations housing vols. of highly shock-absorbing material, used as a structural bearing partic. for use at nuclear power stations, being designed to absorb horizontal forces causing deformation. The elastomer layers are elastic and installed by vulcanising the shock-absorbing material comprising a viscous fluid or an agglomeration of solid grains. The viscous fluid may be utilised ub conjunction with solid elements, deformation of the fluid being effected through a rolling action. The elements may be built onto the two steel plates bounding the filled vol. having concentric closed contours projecting in alternation form the opposed major faces of the plates. Pref. the vols. may be cylindrical contg. disc diaphragms between diametrically split elastomeric segments.</p>
