Weighing pulley using extensometer gauges - connected in bridge circuit and mounted on inner and outer surfaces of dynamometer ring for measuring load as function of ring deformation

A weighing pulley contains extensometer gauges which measure the mechanical deformation of an element as a function of the load applied via a cable. A pulley comprises an exterior ring (1) with a channel which receives a cable. This ring pivots on a ball (2) bearing assembly (3) which is firmly attached to side plates (7, 8) by belts (14). An index (10) and a spaces (6) are firmly attached to side plates to define the angular position of the hub (5). The hub is firmly attached to the central shaft (15) and contains the housing for the index and two symmetrical shoulders which support a ring dynamometer (4). The extensometer gauges are located on the inner and outer surfaces of the dynamometer ring and are connected in a bridge circuit to effect measurements.
