<p>The all weather sports ground surface is made from porous concrete with an artificial lightweight aggregate mix. Because the thermal coefficient of expansion of this aggregate is low, contraction joint spacing can be greatly extended, i.e. the number reduced. The porous concrete is cast in situ on a well drained natural aggregate foundation that has been shaped and levelled and the concrete surface is sanded to remove cement laitance exposing the non slip aggregate. Admixtures can produce concrete of different colours, particularly of pastel shades.</p> |
