<p>A circular saw, for cutting metal sections at any required angle, is mounted on a turntable (3). The metal section is gripped by the rollers (8, 11) of the feed mechanism which is mounted on a slide (5). The angular position of the plane of the circular saw w.r.t. the longitudinal axis of the workpiece is measured by a potentiometer which transmits a signal to the mechanism controlling the position of the slide. This ensures that the travel of the slide is limited so that there is no risk of collision between the slide and saw.</p> |
