The disc has a peripheral slot (5) in its outer circumference through which coolant emerges under centrifugal action. The disc is arranged in a horizontal plane and has its upper surface recessed (7). Bores (6) inside the disc connect this recess to the slot (5). The disc may consist of an upper (2) and a lower disc (1) with the recess (7) provided in the upper disc (2). The recess (7) may be cylindrical and have its bottom surface sloping down to the rim (10), the bores (6) being arranged at the lowest level of the bottom. The slot may contain abrasive inserts (3, 4) at the disc periphery.
