The gearchange mechanism dog clutch has teeth on a selector sleeve engaging in others on a constant-mesh gear turning on a shaft, so as to couple gear and shaft together. The end faces of the dog teeth are chamfered symmetrically. The chamfers (12, 22) on the teeth (11, 21) are curved, typically in arcs of a circle starting at the tooth roots (13, 23) at which points the tangents of these circles at between 25 deg. and 75 deg. to the lengthwise tooth axes. Chamfers on external and internal teeth can be convex and concave respectively.
|
