The process drum for the photocopier has a thin outer wall of sensitive foil suitably perforated. It is fitted over the drum by withdrawing the end plate axially over the drive shaft. This allows simple fitting of the foil without any danger of damaging or creasing the sensitive layer. The end plate is fitted with drive couplings for rotation as well as electric connections for the corona electrode and illuminator inside the drum. Simple finger pressure releases the safety catches to open the roller.
