<p>A pipe support consists of two-semi-circular metal hoops (1, 2) which are embedded in expanded plastic (3, 4). The hoops (1, 2) are considerably larger in diameter than the pipe (11) being supported, the intervening gap being filled by the plastic (3, 4). The two hoops (1, 2) are joined together by nuts and bolts (7, 8) through flanges (6) at their ends. Midway between them, a bolt (5) protrudes from one hoop (1), to attach the support to structure. The plastics (3, 4) provides thermal insulation between the metal hoops (1, 2) and a low-temp. fluid in the pipe (11).</p> |
