<p>PURPOSE:To combine the facility of a tape winding type junction portion with the high reliability of a mold type junction portion by a method wherein a thin film of an insulating material capable of cross linking and thermal fusion is applied to a junction portion of cables, a self-fusion tape is wound about the film, and fusion is effected by heating. CONSTITUTION:An EP rubber tape admixed with a cross linking agent, for example, is wound around a junction portion 16 of cable conductors 14 and around cable insulators 12 thereabout. A self-fusing tape conventionally used in tape winding type junction portion is wound around the rubber tape to a predetermined dimension, to form a tape-wound insulator 24. Then heating is conducted from the side of the cable conductors 14 by HF induction heating, for fusion and cross linkage of the rubber tape, to form a mold insultor 22 as well as a reinforced insulator 20 fused with the cable insulators 12.</p> |
