The roll of paper is pulled out of a container. It is for use in wash-rooms and such like, and is easily torn off to the amount required, without harming the user or unwinding, too much paper. On the inside end of the roll of paper (1) is a tear-off appliance (2) which runs crosswise to the roll and protrudes from the side of the roll. The tear-off appliance can consist of a strip of wire, and can be stuck onto the innermost end of the paper roll.
