A rotatable or swivelling handle is provided on the grip assembly for opening doors, flaps, luggage boot lids, or similar, on motor vehicles. The handle (5) is of the turning type, coupled to a control member (7) which moves it between two positions. There is a device (20, 24, 25a, 25b) for arresting the handle in these two end positions. The handle can have a section (3) for gripping by the user when releasing a lock, and a grip face (2) pointing upwards when the lock is fastened. The control member can move between two settings, and be coupled to the handle via a compression spring unit (13, 14). This enables the handle to move between one position exposing a dirty surface and another offering a clean grip surface.
