<p>The tension measuring device uses a freely suspended roller (6) around which a loop of the moving web is passed and which forms part of a spring balance, with direct read-out of the web tension. The indicator needle of the read-out display is secured to the roller itself. Pref. the web is passed around several rollers (6) forming part of a common spring balance system, with intermediate fixed rollers (7) between them. The former rollers (6) are all secured to a pivoted lever arm (8), the free end of which carries the indicator needle (3). A sensor (9) may be positioned at each limit position of the indicator needle (3), e.g. for controlling web rewinding etc. The lever arm (8) is acted on by a tension spring (5), the other end of which is attached to a tension selector (10) cooperating with a further scale (11) to select the required web tension.</p> |
