Burner for TIG, MIG, or MAG welding - where protective gas nozzle with special profile and/or stream of air is used to reduce formation of toxic ozone

The formation of ozone is avoided or minimised by either (a) employing a protective gas nozzle with a specific profile on the burner, or (b) blowing air or another gas into the stream of protective gas so the latter forms a vortex. The protective gas nozzle is pref. a separate accessory used on the burner, and partial or complete screening of the ultraviolet radiation in the arc is pref. employed to reduce or suppress the formation of ozone created by the ultraviolet radiation. Arc welding produces noxious gases such as O3, and NOx, but the O3 is most harmful to human health and must therefore be removed.
