<p>The electrical ignition assembly is designed for a lightweight internal combustion motor vehicle, having two cylinders of box-shaped design and a weight of under 10 kilograms. For each cylinder (12, 14) there is a permanent magnet which rotates in unison. An associated induction coil stores and delivers the firing energy to the ignitio pins (24, 26). The ignition coil acts as an electronic control unit. The permanent magnets (40, 42) are displaced w.r.t. each other, so that the pin of the induction coil is set obliquely to the rotation track of the permanent magnets and to give simultaneous firing of the ignition pins. The permanent magnets (40, 42) during a complete rotation about the pin of the associated induction coil, effectively pass by the latter, and in so doing, are rendered ineffective w.r.t. to the pin of the other induction coil, which partially falls within their path of rotation. Both permanent magnets (40, 42) together with the balance weight (44, 46) rest on a common starting crank of the rotor (18), consisting of non-magnetic material.</p> |
