NEW MATERIAL:Diphenylamine derivatives of formula I (R is H, lower alkyl, alkali metal). EXAMPLE:2-[4-(2-nitro-4-trifluoromethylanilino)phenoxy]propioic ethyl ester. USE:Herbicide, showing extremely high selectivity of herbicidial activity on gramineous weeds as barnyard grass, manna grass, oats; however, being harmless for rice plant, and forb crops, and medicines having analgesic, anti-inflammatory, hypotensive, anti-microbial actitivities. PREPARATION:4-(2-Nitro-4-trifluoromethylanilino)phenol is made to react with a propioate ester of formula II (X is halogen; R' is lower alkyl) to produce the objective compound of formula I. |
