A self watering apparatus for home growing bean sprouts includes a housing 10 divided into an upper compartment and a lower compartment by a horizontally positioned divider plate 11 provided with orifices 12. An open top sprout container tray 13 is placed within the lower compartment of the housing, the bottom of the tray 13 being provided with a drainage opening 17. A tilting water container 25 is pivotally mounted in the upper compartment of the housing 10 and collects water from a water supply line at a controlled rate. Each time the volume of water collected in the tilting water container 25 reaches an established amount, the tilting water container 25 discharges the collected water on the divider plate 11 and water drains through the orifices 12 into the open top sprout container tray 13. <IMAGE> |
