An oil-in-water insecticidal and acaricidal emulsion comprising 1 to 50% by weight of as a hydrophobic insecticidally and acaricidally active liquid ingredient at least one ester of the formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) where X is a hydrogen atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or a fluorine atom; and Y is a group of the formula: <IMAGE> where R1 is a methyl group or a group of the formula: <IMAGE> where R5 is a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, a fluorine atom or a methyl group; R2 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R3 is a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, a fluorine atom or a tert-butyl group; and R4 is an isopropyl group or a cyclopropyl group; 2 to 10% by weight of polyvinyl alcohol or gum arabic; and 0.1 to 20% by weight of a thickener with the balance being water. |
