PURPOSE:To improve a precision of the product, by providing a differently operating state in a plurality of different kind of grinding belts, and processing a work of automatically grinding a complicated continuous curve of the work being held uniformly without unevenness. CONSTITUTION:A grinding belt drive mechanism unit 1 comprises a drive mechanism 39 of a grinding belt A, with an electric motor M1 being the drive source, and a drive mechanism 40 of a grinding belt B, for providing a driving state of continuous rotation and intermittent turning motion in the grinding belt B with a different electric motor being the drive source. And a work holder drive mechanism unit 2 comprises a work holder 3, consisting of a work holding shaft 11, a work chuck 12, etc., a mechanism 4, for making a rotary copying motion of the work holder 3, a mechanism 5, for causing a reciprocating motion of the work holder 3 between the belt width, a mechanism 6, for shifting the work holder 3 between the grinding belts A and B, and a mechanism 7, for back-and-forth shifting the table in order to make the work 9 contacted to either the grinding belt A or B when processing the work. In such way, with each mechansim in these mechanism units operated and controlled by the controller in accordance with a work shape, a curved surface of the work 9 can be automatically processed a work of grinding. |
