PURPOSE:To engage a contact piece correctly to the work, and ensure a proper amount of intrusion of the rest device, by detecting a contact between the contact piece of the rest device and the work from a rapid change of the change factor of processed diameter of the work. CONSTITUTION:In a memory 47 is read a processing diameter at every unit time, and when a rapid change in the change factor of this processing diameter is produced, a detecting program is contained with the above change being the inflection point. By detecting this inflection point, a detection can be made for a contact piece 37, 38 to be contacted to a work W. A controller 49 is constituted by an arithmetic processing unit 50, interface 52, input device 53, memory 54 and pulse generator 55, with a constant dimension signal and inflection point signal inputted. And by the input device 53, can be set a feed speed of a grindstone base 12 and a rest device 23 and a constant intrusion amount of the rest device 23. |
