PURPOSE:To give compression to the direction code row and then increase the recognition speed for the pattern recognizer which tracks the contour of the input pattern to give definition between the bits via the direction and then converts the input pattern into the direction code row for utilization. CONSTITUTION:The output given from the binary coding circuit is applied to input terminal 31 to be memorized in memory 32. Code conversion part 33 delivers the codes one by one by the order given from control circuit 34, and this output is memorized in shift registers 35 and 36. Adder circuit 37 gives addition between the outut of registers 35 and 36 and the residual given from 1/2 circuit 38. Circuit 38 reduces the output of circuit 37 down to 1/2, and the residual produced through the reduction is returned to circuit 37. At the same time, the lower 3 bits of the output are supplied to code row memory 39. Then decision circuit 41 gives a comparison between the output of memory 39 and that of standard pattern memory 40 to decide the type of the pattern. |
