The screw connection secures a hollow ceramic component (1) to a metal plate (2). It comprises a short expendable plug (6) which is inserted through hole (4) in the component and has a flange bearing on the outside. A screw (7) is screwed into the plug and rests with its head (18) on the outside of the plate (2). The plug may be a cylindrical plastic bush with longitudinal slots and a conical bore portion with screw thread at the flanged end of the plug. The screw may be a wood screw (17) with pointed end (19).
