<p>A press for applying pressure to animal meat on bones to cause the meat to flow out of the press in a paste-like condition. A slide valve is adapted to open and close a large opening in the press in order to discharge the bones remaining in the press by moving the press ram further in the pressure applying direction with respect to the press cylinder. A number of fine openings through which meat passes in paste-like condition open into a surface perpendicular to the direction of movement of the press ram, and the openings are movable in such a way that their ends adjacent the interior of the press slide along another metal part of the structure when the slide valve is moved.</p> |
