<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the retrieving time necessary for retrieval of the data of the translated words corresonding to the data name of the headword or the like supplied by deciding part (such as the first one or two letters) of the data name supplied and then generating the address. CONSTITUTION:For instance, the data name of ''systole'' is supplied, and thus part of the name is decided to generate the address. In the case of one word, decoder 8 prepares the decoders of a-z, and then the head addresses of a-z are memorized in address decoder 9 previously. In this example, the head address of ''s'' is delivered through decoder 9 to be set by address counter 6. Head word ''s'' of the word starting with ''s'' is memorized in memory unit 3 with its translated word memorized in memory unit 4 respectively. After this, retrieval start key 7 is pushed, and the address- up is given to counter 6 until the coincidence is obtained between units 2 and 3. When the coincidence is obtained between memory units 2 and 3, the detection is given through comparator 5. And memory unit 4 delivers the translated word.</p> |
