PURPOSE:To operate a work in high precision, by positioning and clamping at every station while successively transferring the quill spindle onto each station bearing base, and processing the work held on the above described spindle. CONSTITUTION:With up-down motion operated for the chain travel path by a starting of a cam shaft drive device 17, further with reciprocating motion operated for the chain, a quill spindle, positioned in a manual work station A, is made a step-feed and stopped on a V block 40 of the next work process station. Then with a quill positioning mechanism 15 actuated to firmly clamp the quill spindle on to the V block 40, simultaneously with an index unit advanced to index a rotational direction of the work chucked to the quill spindle, after a positoning, an operation of the cam shaft drive device 17 is stopped. And then, with a grinding unit 13 cut and fed, after a grinding process of the work, this spindle is fed into the next work station similarly to the above described, and processed a grinding work. |
