<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the thickness unevenness of liquid crystal and obtain good display by placing a semiconductor substrate having been integrated and formed with transistors, etc. in the intermediate, putting the liquid crystal between the transparent substrate and said substrate, providing the second substrate on the opposite side thereof and putting liquid-form material. CONSTITUTION:A glass substrate 14 having transparent electrodes 15 is disposed to a semiconductor substrate 13 having been integrated and formed with transistors 1, metal electrodes 9, etc., and the second glass substrate 114 is disposed on the other side of the substrate 13. These are secured by using spacer adhesives 18, 118. After a funnel 131 is next bonded, liquid-form material 140 is put in a spacing 119 through injection port 120 under heating and reduced pressure. Next, the pressure is restored to the atmospheric pressure and further the material is pressure- injected. At this time, the spacing 119 becomes convex to the substrate 14 side. After the injection port 120 is sealed with the adhesives 132, liquid crystal 16 is injected under reduced pressure and heating in the similar manner as mentioned before into the spacing 19, thence the pressure is restored to the atmospheric pressure and the remaining liquid crystal is injected, after which the injection port is sealed by the adhesives 32. In this way, the thin substrate 13 is supported flat and the thickness of the liquid crystal 16 is made even. In addition, the strength of the cell is fortified by the substrate 114. The liquid crystal 16 is used for the liquid-form material 140 or material whose coefficient of expansion is close to that of the liquid crystal is used.</p> |
