A flexible bubble-film and fabric laminate for a mattress cover - to provide a cheap, clean, impermeable support which does not provoke body sores

A flexible mat for use as a mattress cover comprises a layer of thin flexible plastic film supporting a series of shallow, cylindrical gas-filled bubbles on one fact. Pref. the bubble film supports a layer of permeable, non-woven fabrid, bonded to the crowns of the bubbles, so than any fluid on the lining can pass through the cover and be trapped between the bubbles. The borders of the fabric may project beyond the borders of the film, to provide an integral tuck or skirt on the mattress cover. Typically the bubbles are approx. 1 cm deep and a few cm across.
