PURPOSE:To detect the radioactivity of great area efficiently with low cost, by using the spread angle light collector made of transparent body to allow light collection to a narrow range. CONSTITUTION:The radioactivity detector 1 consists of the radioactivity-photo conversion medium(scintillator)2 converting the radioactivity into light, wide angle light collector 3 collecting the light emitted from the full surface of the scintillator 2 into a narrow range, reflection mirror 4 reflecting the light emitted from the scintillator 2 outside of the light collector 3 and bending it to the light collector 3, light pipe 5 going an arbitrary direction to the light from the light collector 3, and photo electron tube 6 converting the light into an electric signal. By replacing the type of material of film used for the scintillator 2, it can be used to any of alpha, beta, and gamma rays. With this constitution, the measurement of a single radioactivity of great area can be measured as the distribution flat in the entire measuring range.
