<p>Used to mount machine slides or similar, the bearing provides for relative linear displacements, utilising a completely sealed and housed endless roller train. In longitudinal vertical section the train has two parallel e.g. horizontal runs connected by semi-circular end runs, the top end runs being located by closed corridor tracks, and the bottom run being enclosed on all sides but the base. The rollers in the latter run project nominally through a housing base window to contact the running surface, with the window surround locating a continuous laminar gap seal. The seal may be of rubber, plastics or metal may have mono-tapered edges, and may have inner end edge returns which clip into the window. Alternative details may mount the seal on a whole or partial stiffened or unstiffened housing jacket.</p> |
