The polyphonic musical synthesiser uses digital techniques for the production of sound. Successive samples of the required wave form and phase data, along with the amplitude, and range of octaves and harmonics used, are stored in an assembly of memory blocks. The control of the synthesiser is effected by external addressing of the assembly of memories to access the required data. The continuation of the synthesising operation inside the synthesiser is determined by a sequence of reading different blocks of memories. This reading takes place as a function of the signals provided by a number of signal generators. The synthesiser uses digital techniques to provide an analogue musical output. Sound quality data is stored in memories.
|
