Multitrack continuous casting plant - where driven trolleys are used for rapid replacement of moulds and top sections of billet guide and support roll tracks

The curved guide and support roll tracks for the cast billets are parallel with each other, and each has a detachable top section. Each track is also provided with a trolley travelling along a pair of horizontal rails when pulled by a pair of cables, so the trolley can be moved from a position under a tundish to a storage zone. The trolley carries a mould and also the top track section, plus a device used to oscillate the mould. The trolleys travel below a rotary tower used to suspende ladles above the tundish, and can be rapidly bolted in the working position, where track section is joined to the main part of the track. Each trolley pref. includes a two-pronged fork holding the mould; and an eccentric tilts the fork so the correct mould angle can be obtd.
