The sectionalised hollow bar is for use in sausage production, and comprises a one-piece hollow supporting sleeve of ductile sheet material with central openings in integral end walls. Inside this is accommodated a hollow bar of packing hose rucked together in the lengthwise direction. The bar comprises two or more sections, joined together by short intermediate un-rucked lengths of hose (2). The supporting sleeve (5) has one or more annular internal protrusions (8) fitting in the hose where these lengths occur.
