PURPOSE:To increase the moisture content of rice grains without abnormal rise in temperature and causing broken grains, by adding water within given limits to grains depending on the specific water absorption and rate of expansion. CONSTITUTION:The tank 1 is equipped with the lifting unit 2 for lifting the rice grains 17 from the bottom 1 upward with the screw blades 4 driven by the belt 7 and the pulleys 6 and 8 through the motor 5. The tank 1 also comprises the watering devices 9 with the outlets 10 for adding water from the tank 11 to the interior via the pump 13, and the amount of water is adjusted to give the increase in moisture content of 0.67% or lower /hr. The unit 9 may be attached anywhere in the circuit, e.g. at the side of the tank 1 or in the lifting unit 2. |
