PURPOSE:To enhance charging efficiency by employing an arrangement capable of changing opening and closing timing of suction and exhaust valves depending on the revolutional speed of engine, by providing a follower and its driving means at the top of cam shaft in the manner facing each other, and further providing a centrifugal weight between said follower and driving means for changing the phase angle of cam shaft. CONSTITUTION:Follower 17 carrying a weight is fixed to the top of cam shaft 5 by means of screw 12 and flange 18 operatively connected to crank shaft (not shown) by belt 3 is fitted on the shaft of follower 17 in freely rotatable manner. Further, pivotal pins 19, 20 are fixed respectively on the inside of follower 17 and flange 18, and a centrifugal weight 16 is disposed between these pins 19 and 20 by the intermediary of springs 15, 15. Therefore, along with rise in the revolutional speed of cam shaft 5, weight 16 is moved against the force of springs 15, so that phase angle of follower 17 to flange is changed resultantly. |
