PURPOSE:An isolation culture that contains a propagation inhibitor against other microorganisms than Serratiae and maltose as carbon source, thus permitting the identification of Serratia bacteria after 16-26hr culture. CONSTITUTION:Said culture contains 1-25mg/l of 4, 2', 4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether and 0.5-20mg/l of polymyxin B as inhibitor supprssing the propagation of other microorganisms than Serratia bacteria and maltose as the carbon source. |
