PURPOSE:To increase the moisture content of rice grains simply without causing broken grains, by adding water within given limits to grains depending on the specific water absorption, and rate of expansion of the rice grain. CONSTITUTION:The circuit or rice grains comprises the bottom of the tank, the lifting unit, and the pass from the unit to the top of the tank. A water spray unit is provided in the circuit to add 0.223% or less/sec of water to the grains, and the amount of water is adjusted to give the increase in moisture content of 0.67% or lower /hr. |
